Advice on Disassociating

hello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.

i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?

i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

Stan, you are encouraging a current jdub to stay one and live a life in which he remains one. Sounds like field service to me.

Why make a big issue out of it?

It will only create problems for your relatives and friends

Just walk away..never look back..dont go near a kh again..forget the cult and move on with your life.

Even visiting sites like this can do more harm than good if youre still dithering.

if i could turn the clock back--yes--i would have done it differently. no resigning--no grand gesture to get me d'fd...just a slow fade --to a point where most people wouldnt even remember me. just maybe i might have been able to maintain contact with my kids.

strange as it may seem--i still miss my kids. they havent died--in fact they have familes. i have 7 grand children i have never met. the eldest is married herself now--so ive heard.

so dont tell me my life would be better if i just went back. ive earned my spurs.

You realize that everyone who is telling you not to do what you want and not to play by the orgs rules are literally still Jehovahs Witnesses and always will be.

ha ha--so that includes me then. right on !

seriously though--i had to go and take the same line as the OP is proposing..i resigned and went public about it. 2 of my kids havent had any contact with me for 40 years. is that what you want ?

Why the BIG 4.5 day elder "school"?

just wonderin' if anyone has heard of anything about something big going down in the borg?

good friend of mine just told me today that he will be attending a 4.5 day elder "training school" all nest week!

the "special" elder "schools" are usually only 2-3 days.. lots of dumbing down coming?.

i was out just as the elder thing was getting under way. the congregation servant did say he had put me up for the job. no thanks.

there is another angle to marrying an ex jw.

i am an ex jw--have been so for over 40 years. in that time ive been married 3 times ( and thats not counting my first wife--who was a born-in jw---and still is )

my second wife ( married 24 years ) always thought of me as a jw--even though i had left well before i met her. she used to taunt me about it--and use it in any argument--about anything--we may have had.

my 3rd wife ( married and seperated 5 years ) also regarded me as a jw---on the basis it was because i now had no religion--so i must still be one by default.

my 4th wife--the one im with now..knew a fair bit about the religion--as she dated one in her early 20's. he subsequently met and married another jw. my wife is catholic--but never goes to church. i think she also regards me as jw--on the basis i dont attend any other church.

so in the mind of a "wordly" person--its once a jw--always a jw.

To those who are suspicious of unmarried or soon to be married non witness women who are expressing concerns about their boyfriends or husband to be when they reveal a need to return to the JW world. Don't discourage them from asking for advice and information.

dont you think its more than a coincidence we have had quite a few new members posting on a very similar subject--and in most cases they never return?

it could be one troll--or several organised through a pro dub facebook group.

maybe @Simon could run some sort of internet trace to see if these one hitters are in some way connected.

When You Would Hear A Talk About Committing “Secret Sins” How Did You React?

it seemed as if every year a talk would be given in the congregation or at a convention about “secret sins”.

very predictably, witnesses would have pangs of conscience and confess their secret sin.. back in the 70s, one sister with an unbelieving mate went to the elders to confess about husband and her engaging in oral sex.

she was privately reproved for her “sin” and every so often would approach the elders to say she slipped up again.. i know i’d never tell anybody about my sex life just because of misguided guilt.

Great Sell-Off is for the Expansion Work in Africa

they say this sell off is for the need to build more kh.

however the branch accounting video that was leaked shows otherwise.. is there a way to find out how many halls are constructed in africa and other places to show the money trail is to pay for child abuse cases and not new halls.?.

1,000 new kingdom mudhalls at $25,000 each will cost $25 million. i cant see the watchtower writing a cheque for that amount though.

Do You See JWs Going From House to House Anymore?

i used to see them in my neighborhood or while driving.

there is a hispanic congregation nearby.

i used to see witnesses out all the time, some even doing the slow pioneer shuffle.

Come to think of it..not this year. The street i live on used to get worked often..ive had several long discussions on my doorstep
